This is another attribute that our international patients view positively. What are the IJN International Patient Services (IIPS) and how can it help you? Preparing for a major medical procedure is stressful enough. It can be more so, if it were to be done in a different country, far from home.That is why we have set up IJN International Patient Services (IIPS) to help our patients and their accompanying family members make the appropriate arrangements for their stay. IIPS extends a range of services which include:visa and immigration assistance Visas are not usually required for social/business visits under six months. However, for the foreign nationals who do require visas, they must apply and obtain a visa in advance at a Malaysian Representative Office before entering the country. The necessary documents from IJN will be arranged to support your application. IIPS also helps with visa extensions andimmigration clearance especially in emergency cases when entry processneeds to be expedited. Medical co-ordination Provide support services and arrangements relating to patient’s medical needs, including scheduling of appointments and referrals, inpatient admission, referral and follow-ups in home country, rehabilitation needs as well as medical devices and special therapy. Hospital Admissions and Discharges Assist with hospital admissions and discharges, including bill estimation, deposit arrangement, fund transfer, bill payment, insurance claim, medical leave certificate and medical report Meet & Greet and Airport transfer Arrange airport meeting and transfer service upon request from Airport or Hotel to IJN via IJN’s transport (ambulance, car or MPV).
Assist to liaise with airlines/travel agents on flight reservations, rescheduling and confirmation from/to patient’s home country, travel within Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur city tour. Visa and Diplomatic arrangement Provide necessary documentation to obtain Visa for medical treatment in IJN, to obtain extension of Visa and assistance for other diplomatic requirements that may arise during patient’s stay. Visitors to Malaysia must be in possession of a valid passport with a minimum validity of six (6) months beyond the period of stay. Hotels and accommodation Assist to find accommodation to suit patient’s budget and needs, with options ranging from budget lodging to five-star hotels and also serviced apartments at specially negotiated corporate rates. As IJN is located in Kuala Lumpur city centre, there are more than 10 hotels (budget to 5 stars) within 5 minutes drive from the hospital. Intepreter services Most Malaysians speak at least two languages, Malay and English — but an interpreter for non-English or non-Malay speaking patients can be arranged to help them communicate effectively with our medical professionals. Evacuation and repatriation services Arrange for smooth safe medical evacuation and repatriation service to home countries or any destination of patient’s choice REMINDERS TO INTERNATIONAL PATIENTS 1. Make sure all travel documents are in order, including passport, visa, flight tickets before you leave your home country. 2. Compile and bring along all medical records (preferably translated into English), test reports, surgery reports, treatment record, list of prescribed medications and laboratory results. 3. To bring along all films (x-rays, MRIs, CT scans) and any medical records in CD or thumb drive format. 4. Carry your medical records, films and medications with you as cabin baggage in case your luggage is lost or delayed. 5. Bring ample stock of medications that you must take regularly. 6. Bring along your own personal care items such as tooth brush, tooth paste, bath soap, hair brush, bath towel and others for usage during your stay in ward |
