International Patient Centre


IJN’s medical expertise in cardiovascular and thoracic care is internationally recognised. This has lead to an ever increasing number of international patients. To facilitate overseas patient preparations IJN has set up the International Patient Centre (IPC). Services include:

Visa and Immigration Assistance 
Visas are not usually required for social/business visits under six months. Foreign nationals who do require visas must apply and obtain a visa in advance at a Malaysian Embassy or Representative Office before entering the country. The IPC will assist by providing necessary documentation to obtain Visa for medical treatment in IJN. The IPC will also help obtain Visa extensions that may arise during patient’s stay. Visitors to Malaysia must be in possession of a valid passport with a minimum validity of six (6) months beyond the period of stay.

IPC also helps with immigration clearance in emergency cases

Medical Co-ordination
Provide support services and arrangements relating to patient’s medical needs, including pre-departure consultation, scheduling of appointments and referrals, inpatient admission, referral and follow-ups in home country, rehabilitation needs as well as medical devices and special therapy.

Hospital Admissions and Discharges
Assist with hospital admissions and discharges, including bill estimation, deposit arrangement, fund transfer, bill payment, insurance claim, medical leave certificate and medical report.

Meet & Greet / Airport Transfer / City Transfer
Arrange airport meeting and transfer service upon request to/from Airport or Hotel to IJN with reasonable charges using either IJN’s own transport (ambulance, car or MPV) or IJN’s appointed transportation partners.

Travel-Related Assistance
Assist to liaise with airlines /travel agents on flight reservations, rescheduling and confirmation from/to patient’s home country, travel within Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur city tour.

Hotels and Accommodation
Assist to find and book accommodation to suit patient’s budget and needs, with options ranging from budget lodging to five-star hotels and also serviced apartments at specially negotiated corporate rates. As IJN is located in Kuala Lumpur city centre, there are more than 10 hotels (budget to 5 stars) within 5 minutes drive from the hospital.

Interpreter Services
Most Malaysians speak at least two languages, Malay (Bahasa Malaysia) and English — but an interpreter for non-English or non-Malay speaking patients can be arranged to help them communicate effectively with our medical professionals.

Evacuation and Repatriation Services
Arrange for smooth safe medical evacuation and repatriation service to home countries or any destination of patient’s choice and work closely with travel insurance providers, embassies, international medical evacuation and repatriation provider and airline services.
