Length of Stay

Quality Indicator

Has the length of stay post-surgery been reduced?

Open heart surgery is a major operation and the hours following surgery are considered critical. The surgeon will advise you on the present condition of your heart. The duration of your hospital stay after the surgery depends on the exact condition or healing of the heart.

Ask your surgeon about the healing process, the condition of improvements and the number of days you will need to stay in the hospital.

We have prepared a comparative graph for your review. It shows how IJN patients’ length of stay for the various procedures have decreased over the years. The various procedures are:

  • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
  • Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Pacemaker/ Defibrillator (CRTP/D)
  • Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)
