PULMONARY EMBOLISM

This condition is caused by a blockage of one of the pulmonary arteries in the lungs due to blood clots. It is most commonly caused by deep vein thrombosis, which is when a blood clot forms in a vein, deep inside the body. Blood clots can occur due to injury or damage to blood vessels, inactivity or cancer.
