In 2021 a total of 755 patients had transcatheter (non-surgical) procedures at IJN.
Total Volume of Interventional Procedures 2019 to 2021 (N=1,214)

In 2021, IJN performed 374 interventional procedures for paediatric and adult congenital heart disease patients. The top 6 interventional procedures are PDA Occlusion, ASD Occlusion, VSD Occlusion, PDA Stenting, Percutaneous Transluminal Balloon Valvuloplasty (PTBV) and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract (RVOT) Stenting.

Paediatric Cardiology Heart Surgery (in 2020 N=1,320) and (in 2021 N=1,173)

In 2021, IJN surgeons performed 1,173 paediatric cardiac surgeries.

The hospital length of stay for ASD, TOF and VSD were divided into 3 categories:

  1. Pre-op stay
  2. ICU stay
  3. Post-op stay

**ASD: Atrial Septal Defect
TOF: Tetralogy of Fallot
VSD: Ventricular Septal Defect

**Mainly complex and/or very young patients which were not suitable for transcatheter device closure
