Institut Jantung Negara, 19 October 2024 – The National Heart Institute (IJN) expresses its deep appreciation for the government’s decision, as announced during the tabling of Budget 2025, to continue allowing patients who are currently receiving treatment at IJN, particularly those aged 65 and above, to remain under our care with government support. This critical decision ensures the continuity of care for many patients, further strengthening IJN’s mission to provide world-class cardiovascular healthcare to the rakyat.

This decision reaffirms the government’s commitment to ensuring that its patients have access to high-quality, affordable treatment at IJN. By allowing patients to remain in our care, the government ensures uninterrupted, high-standard treatment for those who need it most. We are confident this move will alleviate concerns for many families, while maintaining our efforts to deliver excellence in healthcare.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health, especially to YAB Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Minister of Health, YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, as well as the Secretary General of Ministry of Health and Director General of Health, for their understanding and consideration of the needs of these patients.

We look forward to continued collaboration and support from the government to ensure that IJN remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation and service for all Malaysians.
