KUALA LUMPUR, 21 March 2025 – Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) reinforced its commitment to ensuring that financial hardship does not prevent patients from receiving life-saving heart treatment by increasing its contribution to the IJN Foundation (IJNF) from RM3.5 million to RM4.5 million this year.

The cheque was presented by Prof Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohamed Ezani Md Taib, IJN Group Chief Executive Officer, to YABhg. Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Dr. Hajjah Aishah Ong, Chairman of IJN Foundation. The ceremony was witnessed by Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, Chairman of IJN.

This increased contribution reflects IJN’s unwavering commitment to expanding access to critical cardiac care for underprivileged patients.

“At IJN, we believe that financial constraints should never stand in the way of a patient receiving life-saving treatment. By increasing our contribution this year, we hope to reach more patients and provide greater relief to those in need,” said Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah during the event.

Since its establishment in 1995, the IJN Foundation has provided RM88.7 million in patient assistance, enabling nearly 7,000 underprivileged individuals to undergo essential heart surgeries and treatments. The foundation has also funded research and training programs to advance cardiac care in Malaysia.

YABhg. Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Dr. Hajjah Aishah Ong expressed her gratitude for IJN’s increased support: “This contribution reflects IJN’s continued dedication to supporting heart patients in need. With these additional funds, we will be able to assist more patients and make a greater impact in the lives of those who require urgent cardiac treatment.”

As IJN Foundation marks its 30th anniversary this year, it continues to call for more corporations, organizations, and individuals to contribute, ensuring that no heart patient is left behind.
