KUALA LUMPUR, 15 January 2025 – The Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) is proud to announce that its Paediatric & Congenital Heart Centre (PCHC) has been selected as one of the live transmission sites for the A-Z Vietnam Interventional Meeting, one of the largest congenital interventional cardiology gatherings in ASEAN. This achievement underscores IJN’s commitment to delivering world-class pediatric cardiology care and its status as the region’s leading centre for heart health.

 

This prestigious event, taking place in Vietnam, will bring together some of the world’s foremost experts in congenital heart disease, providing a platform to showcase IJN’s expertise and the exceptional capabilities of its medical professionals. The live transmission will feature advanced procedures conducted by IJN’s experienced specialists, offering insights into cutting-edge techniques and innovations.

 

During the live transmission, the following advanced procedures were performed by IJN’s paediatric cardiology team on patients ranging from 3 weeks old to 15 years old:

  • Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Implantation
  • Ductal Stenting Procedure in a neonate with Ebstein anomaly
  • Coronary Artery Fistula Device Closure

The procedures were led by the following esteemed paediatric cardiologists:

  • Dr. Marhisham Che Mood
  • Datuk Dr. Mazeni Alwi
  • Dr. Leong Ming Chern

The A-Z Vietnam Interventional Meeting is currently underway from 15 January to 17 January 2025 in Vietnam, drawing participation from leading cardiologists and medical professionals across ASEAN and beyond.
